Somerville Media Center’s Out Takes: Youth Film Festival

Somerville Media Center’s Out Takes Youth Film Festival

Come join SCATV’s Summer Youth Program in celebrating their incredible summer by viewing short films, animations, and news segments created, directed, filmed, acted and edited exclusively by young people. Last year’s inaugural Out Takes: Youth Film Festival drew over 75 audience members and included submissions from Saugus Community TV, RAW Art Works of Lynn, Somerville Media Center, and more.  This year’s event will be held Thursday, August 17th from 7:00pm-8:30pm at the Somerville Community Growing Center (22 Vinal Ave).

The night will kick off with refreshments at 7:00, followed by a number of original shorts created by youth in Somerville and surrounding areas. We will be hosting the event at the Somerville Community Growing Center, so bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets to spread out under the stars while you watch.

NOTE: We are currently accepting submissions of original content, 15 minutes or less in length, created by youth up to age 21. Please submit all content directly to Heather McCormack, Youth Media Coordinator, at by August 10th.
